The Day of Results – a poem.

The day of results
not happy, not enticed,
accepted the demise,
ruin,
FAILURE.

One subject however
a subject dear to my heart
remained;
passed,
a small recompense for the years wasted.

The day, that bright sunny day,
still floats around my mind like it was yesterday,
and yesterday still lives –
a time gone in the present – absolutely;
like today never happened, or wanted to happen.

She passed me,
I knew so, recognised her car;
and then I hear the squeel of breaks,
screeching from concern;
and my teacher got out.

She was concerned, she looked worried –
and asked how I did.
‘Not very good, but I passed your subject’.
And this memory stayed with me,
like a solid foundation dug deep into my psyche –

She never left me.
